Questions about Powelio

Frequently asked questions

Everything installation and fit-out companies ask before switching: kitchen retailers, interior fit-out, joinery, bathrooms, plumbing, heating and electrical.

Getting started and migrating

Powelio is business software for installation and fit-out companies: kitchen retailers, interior fit-out, joinery, bathrooms, plumbing, heating and electrical. It brings quotes, projects, purchase orders, planning, warehouse and invoicing together in one platform, from first design to handover. Powelio runs entirely in the browser and on tablet, with no installation on your own server. Behind the platform sits more than thirty years of daily practice in construction and retail, and it shows in the screens: they follow the way these companies actually work.

For any company that sells, orders, schedules and installs. Kitchen retailers, interior fit-out, joinery, bathrooms, wardrobes, windows and doors, but equally plumbing, heating, ventilation and electrical. From a single showroom to a chain with multiple branches. Sales, back office, project managers, warehouse and installers all work in the same project file.

Yes. Powelio imports customers, projects, order lines, payments, documents and internal messages from your current system. Full migrations from FileMaker and Excel have already been completed, including ten to fifteen years of history per branch. You do not start with an empty screen.

A branch typically switches over within a few weeks. Data is first imported and verified in a test environment, followed by a guided kickoff for the team. Your old system can keep running during the transition.

No. Each branch is a separate environment within the same platform and can be migrated on its own. Branches already live keep working while the next one is prepared.

3D software and eOPUS

Yes. Powelio is listed in the open interface of eOPUS itself. eOPUS Studio is the 3D design software for interior and kitchen companies that take their design to the next level. From within eOPUS you send a quote or project to Powelio in one click, including article lines and customer details. No retyping and no intermediate file.

Yes, and not only with the well-known names. Your design program produces a list of everything you have drawn. Powelio takes that list and recognises the articles against the catalogues, so they appear on your quote with the correct article number and price. You draw, we turn it into the quote. Winner, Carat, Insitu, CET and eOPUS work this way today, and any other program that can output a list we connect as well. For those who want the technical detail: this happens through a file or directly between the two programs.

No. That list is there for your production and your ordering, not for your customer. Powelio turns it into a commercially readable quote: grouped by product family or by item, in your own branding and in your customer's language, with readable amounts per item. No cutting and pasting in Word or Excel afterwards, and no two versions drifting apart.

Powelio is built to connect. Today eOPUS, design software, supplier catalogues, Tradeplace, Peppol, accounting and the bank feed all talk to each other. Still using another package that belongs in the picture? Send us your request: we look into the link and build it as a module at the edge of the platform, and before long you are rid of the various places where everything sits or used to sit.

Your projects, history and project data stay in Powelio. The design tool is a source at the edge of the platform, not its foundation. You can change 3D software without losing your business data.

Supplier catalogues and pricing

Powelio loads catalogues from manufacturers and wholesalers and makes them available to connected companies, whatever the sector: kitchen, interior, plumbing, heating or electrical. Everything available through your 3D software can be in Powelio too: including Nobilia, Häcker, LEICHT, Schüller, next125, Eggersmann, Wesco, Ballerina, Sachsenküchen, artego Küchen and Naber, tens of thousands of articles. New catalogues are added regularly. You can quote straight away with the correct article numbers and current prices.

Yes. On top of the catalogue price you record your own terms per branch. Your margins and discounts remain yours and are not visible to other companies on the platform.

Then we load it for you, whatever sector your supplier is in. Importing and maintaining catalogues is part of the service, not something you have to do yourself. Send us your supplier price list and we prepare it in your environment.

Yes. Alongside the loaded catalogues you keep your own article file, with your own descriptions, prices and composite articles. Even your own product catalogue of over 100,000 articles is no problem. Both work together in the same quote.

Ordering, delivery and invoicing

Yes, and it is standard with us, not a paid extra. Your customer receives the quote in their own language, signs with one click on their screen, and the signed document is back in the project file straight away. You see when they opened it and when they signed. Does your customer prefer paper? Print the sheet and have it signed at the kitchen table. We have nothing against a ballpoint pen.

Yes. Purchase orders go from the project to the supplier, by email or electronically through EDI systems such as Tradeplace, where we have more than ten years of experience. Confirmations, order numbers and delivery dates come back on the same order line, so everyone sees what has been ordered and when it arrives.

Yes. Powelio is Peppol certified together with its partners, across Europe and beyond. You send deposit invoices, final invoices and credit notes straight from the project, without a separate accounting package for sending.

Yes. Deposit invoices, balance invoices and payment follow-up are part of the project file. Outstanding and overdue amounts are shown per customer and per branch in an ageing report.

Multiple branches, planning and site work

Yes. Each branch has its own protected environment with its own customers, prices and staff. Central management can report across branches on revenue, planning and lead times, without branches seeing each other's projects.

Yes. Installers, drivers and warehouse staff work on tablet or phone with their own screen: site sheet, deliveries, picking and photos. What they enter appears in the office project file immediately.

Yes. Survey, production, delivery, installation and after-sales service are scheduled per project in a shared calendar, with your own teams or external partners. Customers automatically receive confirmations in their own language.

In three clicks. You pick the service, the day and the time, and Powelio does the rest. Your customer gets a confirmation in their own language with a calendar invitation attached, which they add to Outlook, Google Calendar or their phone calendar with one tap. Your team sees the same appointment in the planning and on their phone, and the project file keeps a record of what was agreed. One action, and it is ready everywhere.

Languages, data and support

The software is available in twelve languages, including Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Polish. Every user picks their own language and customer documents go out in the customer's language. Is your language missing? Send us a request: the number of languages can be extended.

Your data is hosted on European servers and remains the property of your company. Each branch has a separated environment and a daily backup is taken.

Support matters a great deal to us and is followed up closely. From any screen you report an issue, with a screenshot and the project attached, and that report goes straight to the development team. Depending on its scope, an issue is often fixed and released the same day.

Your reports and ideas go straight to the development team and carry weight in what gets built. The decision on new features and on how screens are laid out rests with Powelio and the development team, not with a single customer. That keeps one version for everyone: no separate variants per company, and every improvement reaches all users at once.

Powelio works with a subscription per branch, matched to the size of your company and the modules you use. There are no per user licences and no server of your own. Request a demo for a tailored price.

No. Powelio runs in the cloud. No server of your own, no server licences and no installation per workstation. A browser is enough.

Build your own or rent

That is the most common misconception. A server in your own building means you are responsible for everything that goes wrong. One employee clicking the wrong email and a virus takes down your entire server, with your projects held hostage. This happens today to companies of every size. And then there is the risk nobody likes to name: if a fire breaks out, is your server in a fire resistant room? Does that room survive the water used to put the fire out? You do not want to lose your building and your entire history at once, no longer knowing who paid what, let alone what to order for the next delivery. At Powelio your data sits on professionally managed European servers, with daily back-ups in more than one location. Keeping your data safe is our profession, not one more worry for you.

Because you would be starting a second company alongside the one you already have. Bespoke software stands on its own: it does not connect to eOPUS, to the supplier catalogues, to Tradeplace or to Peppol, unless you have all of that built separately and keep maintaining it year after year. And just as you want to be the best in your trade, we have to be the best in ours: following new technology, keeping security current, keeping the links up to date. That work never stops. Anyone having their own software built today usually has, after two years, less than half of what a solid package in your sector has been doing for years.

Count on a few hundred thousand euro for a starter package, and that is not the end but the stake. Then comes maintenance, every year again, plus the developer you keep needing. Count on one to two years before it works the way you want, and meanwhile your company keeps running on what you have today. Against that stands our offer: a subscription with specialists, a fixed monthly cost, usable straight away, links included and maintenance included. The maths is quickly done, and there are no headaches attached.
